MiFID (Markets in Financial The Instruments Directive)  - The European Union is «O markets in financial instruments" in the development of which they participated in FSA - the Financial Services Regulation and Supervision of the UK. MiFID replaces the ISD - directive "Investment Services", as part of the EU's plan for a single European market for financial services and instruments that came into force in November 2007. Requirements of the Directive are required for use in 27 countries - EU member states and three countries, which are part of the European Economic Area. The main objectives of MiFID are to protect investors activity, transparency, efficiency and competitiveness of the financial markets.

Some of the requirements of MiFID

  1. Use by single passport MiFID, allowing the provision of services to clients in various countries of the Common Economic Space.
  2. Classification of clients into three main categories. This is a "full partner", "Professional client" and "Private Client" with the highest degree of security. Thus there is a conformity assessment of their product offerings. Customers thus receive appropriate status level of investor protection.
  3. Transparency, which requires at any time to provide investors and other market participants subject to a potential transaction or to verify eligibility that has already been carried out.
  4. Reporting of the transaction, informing customers about the risks.
  5. Protecting the privacy of personal information of customers, their assets.
