The reason for that was a great uncertainty regarding the results of negotiations between the Greek authorities and the country's official creditors under the terms of which a few years ago were discussed by Athens in the framework of financial support.
At the same time, the experts of another rating agency - S & P - lowered the level of long-term credit rating of Greece from "B" to "B-" because of liquidity constraints. That puts pressure on the Greek banking institutions. Also it reduced the time frame when the new government was able to reach an agreement within the framework of the official financial support of troika of creditors.
